Aeon Mall Kyoto

A few minutes away from the humongous Kyoto Station, Aeon Mall is the one stop shop for anything and everything you might need in the city. With stores selling everything from clothing, accessories, footwear, furniture, books, medicines, groceries, baked goods, electronics, toys, and sports equipment, this place is very much like the Room of Requirement from Harry Potter. Moreover, the presence of a cinema hall, an amusement arcade, and several cheap food stalls only adds to its popularity. If you are tired of Japanese fare and fancy some Indian food or the usual fried chicken, barbecued ribs, and ice-cream, Aeon Mall is the right place to be. However, do keep in mind that as far as souvenirs are concerned, you should head to the more traditional stores and high-end shopping complexes dotting the streets of Kyoto.

With two elaborate buildings (Sakura and Kaede) spread out over five and four floors respectively, along with all major international and local brands you could think of, Aeon Mall is the best place to indulge in some retail therapy in Kyoto. And yes, it is quite pocket friendly. Moreover, overseas visitors are entitled to tax free shopping, and exciting discounts. The galleria is open from 10 in the morning till 9 in the evening, and is on the Hachijo Street, opposite the South West exit of Kyoto Station.
