When it comes to historical monuments in Ahmedabad, Bhadra fort deserves special mention. Constructed back in 1411 A.D. during Maratha rule, the fort consists of a magnificent palace displaying beautifully embellished arches and balconies surrounded by lush green gardens. The key attractions on the premises are Teen Darwaza which lies on the eastern side of the fort, and the Bhadrakali Temple, which was built in dedication to the Hindu goddess Bhadra. In addition, the fort serves as the venue for flag hoisting ceremonies during important national holidays.
