Located in the heart of Kumily, the plantation town famous as a spice trade centre and in middle of the main bazaar, this hotel may seem a bit on the pricier side, but has clean, well-furnished and spacious rooms, bathrooms, intercom facility, satellite TV and individual balconies for the tourists. As with most budget hotels in Kumily/Thekkady, Hotel High range residency too has air conditioners missing from their guest rooms, but considering the general weather of the place, that works fine. The Right from the bell boy to the waiter, every member of the staff does a good job. The hotel has its own small vegetarian restaurant which serves a decent food. Also, the doors of the hotel’s kitchen are open for those craving to eat the food cooked by their own good hands. From the hotel, the wildlife reserve is close-by, as are other main attractions. Elephant ride, trekking, boating on Periyar lake, Bamboo rafting and plantation tours are all arranged by the hotel for the pleasure of its guests.
