Lush oasis next to Lake Malaren

Right on the banks of Lake Malaren on Norr Mälarstrand, Orangeriet is a pretty coffee shop by day and buzzing bar and restaurant by night. It's colourful, cluttered and full of character - and all together rather unlike anywhere in the less-is-more styled city.

The building - a fantastically decorated greenhouse - is the main attraction. Imbibers sit among olive trees, brightly coloured flowers and hanging lanterns while sipping on inventive cocktails from a well-edited menu. Simple bar snacks and hors d'oeuvres are on offer, as is live music courtesy of nightly DJs. In summer, patrons jostle for a spot on the terrace to watch the sun set.
