You know Schatzalp for many things. The toboggan runs in summer, the skiing in winter, home to a botanic garden rife with alpine plants of all permutations, and here is where you go to photograph a blooming cluster of Edelweiss. A highpoint for many is to visit (if not stay at least a day) at the Waldhotel. This art nouveau style building with its Belle Époque architecture, used to be a sanatorium. It was while novelist Thomas Mann was staying here, while visiting his un-well wife Katia, that he found inspiration for his novel Magic Mountain.
