The best place for a relaxed coffee pot with a book is arguably a café called 40 hands, while the Blu Jaz Café is more appropriate for conversation and a quick bite, served with live jazz on Monday, Friday and Saturday evenings. There are cafes aplenty in Singapore and you’ll find a perfectly acceptable nondescript one around every corner but if it’s the city’s best latte you’re after then head to the Room Coffee Bar on Alexandra Road.
