In southern Beijing lies the world's largest antiques market with 4,000 stores in 50,000 square metres. The amount of goods on offer is incredible and you can find anything here: metre high statues, books, paintings and artwork as well as jewellery and ornaments from Chinese minority groups.
The best time to come here is on Saturday or Sunday, when the market is at its largest. New products arrive at the weekends, so the ideal time for bargain hunting is around 5am - 6am on a weekend. Even though the prices can be very inexpensive, it's still possible to bargain for everything.
