After wandering around this beautiful town with its magnificent monuments, put your feet up in the evening at Plaza del Azoguejo. Against the backdrop of the stunning aqueduct, there are many little cafes and eateries that are ideal for relaxation. The square was an old market square, which is now used as a meeting place by locals. From ancient times, it has been a trading square and the word Azoguejo is believed to have derived from souk, the Arabic word for trading place. Today the square is home to tall, majestic and beautiful buildings which house a variety of shops and establishments including eateries and hotels.
