Beautifully crafted cocktails in Capitol Hill

Word to the wise: Sun Liquor has its own distillery and restaurant at 514 East Pike Street, where they make their own gin and vodka.

With its bamboo lettering sign and tropical mural, this bar squirreled away on a residential street in Capitol Hill has a kitschy tiki bar kind of feel. But don't be fooled by Sun Liquor's 1930s Shanghai-style decor: this is a place for serious cocktails.

Specializing in gin produced at their downtown distillery, every tipple is concocted with fresh juices and home-made syrups and bitters, and they all go down a treat. If gin's not your thing, try a horse's neck, with Jameson, lemon and ginger beer, or a forget-me-not mint julep with bourbon, apple brandy, nectarine shrub and mint.
