Tiny space, big view
At just 1.26 acres, it's more like a backyard, but this teensy park has plenty going for it. Perched atop Seattle's tallest hill, Kerry Park boasts unsurpassed views of Elliott Bay and downtown that draws camera buffs by the dozen. On a clear day, you can see to Mount Rainer and beyond.
At sunset, photographers line the wall to capture the fantasy-like cityscape complete with twinkling ferries gliding across the water. But this green space isn't without its own art; the sculpture 'Changing Form' by Doris Chase was added in 1971; a gift from Kerry's three children. There's also picnic-ready benches, and coin-operated telescopes.
You'll find loads of stores and cafes along Queen Anne Avenue to break up the hike to the viewpoint from Downtown, but if you'd prefer to bus it, catch Seattle Center buses 2 or 13.
