The home of the Seattle Symphony
Occupying an entire city block, Benaroya Hall is one of the cultural megaliths of Seattle. Built in 1998, the Hall features two main performance spaces as well as a formal hall. The modernist architecture produces ideal acoustics and the beautiful, simple lines make for an elegant performance space.
The main hall is the S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium, which seats 2,500. Its simple design and comfortable seating makes it possible to enjoy the music of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra without obstruction - and even the smallest murmur from a member of the orchestra will travel to the back row. The smaller of the two spaces, The Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall, features more esoteric performances, like traveling Kabuki theater and lectures.
