It wouldn’t be a top 10 list of restaurant in San Francisco if it didn’t include a dim sum restaurant. San Francisco has one of the oldest Chinatowns in the country and a deep history of delicious dim sum restaurants and Asian fare. Yank Sing is one of the best now with two locations. During the week, it is a sleek business meeting destination where serious discussions are had over crisp white table linens. On the weekend though, families and friends gather from all walks of life to join together and snack on delicious Asian morsels.
As for the food—there is no better! Dim sum literally means “to touch the heart” and there is no doubt that a few plates of dumplings and wontons at Yank Sing will do just that. Dishes include steamed dumplings, stuffed lotus leaves, peking duck, steamed pork bun and our favourite—pork sui mye which are steamed pork and shrimp dumplings with mushroom wrapped in a steamed pastry wrapper.
Don’t miss: Pork sui mye and the shanghai dumpling.
