The “Roma summer jazz festival”, known also as RSJF, is a quite recent event that has an innovative format, since it’s not only proposing a dense calendar of performances of Italian and International artists from the jazz scene, but also an intensive workshop for a selection of students.

The festival takes place in the “International house of women” hosted inside an historical building with an ancient courtyard in the heart of Trastevere district. This association is self-funded and aim at providing cultural experiences but also social assistance and consultancy oriented towards woman.

Because of the location, a focus is given on the theme of the woman, even though the performing artists can be of any gender.

There is a symbolical fee of 2€ to pay to have an access card that is valid for all the length of the event.

The workshop instead (RSJW) is a seven day full time intensive course run by renowned American jazz musician and Italian vocalists. There is a limited number of places available for each instrument, so if you are a performer and you are serious about Jazz, you should hurry up and enrol yourself for the next edition! There is a fee to correspond to take part to the workshop as a student. The workshop is taking place in “Centro Ottava” at walking distance from “Cornelia” metro station.
