Located in the centre of the city of Riga itself, Old City Riga is a must-see for anyone exploring this ancient and vibrant city. The cobblestone and architectural gems abound, and just wandering through will bring you to a number of historic sites as well as modern attractions. The many streets contain a melange of architectural styles, everything from Romanticism, Gothic, Mannerism, Baroque, Eclectic and Modernism.
Check out Rozena Street, a street so old and narrow that you can actually touch either wall while passing through. From St Peter’s Church catch a view of the city. The many arts and crafts houses on Skarnu Street are full of souvenirs shops, and there you can learn about the city’s rich trade history. From art galleries to historical museums, you’ll find all these in Old Town. Enjoy also the famous Vecriga eclair from one of the many Old Town cafes. You’ll also find a number of music clubs if you’re looking for some entertainment at night.
