Talk of the town: The Golden Tiger was once the favourite haunt of Bohumil Hrabal, a writer little know internationally who Czechs love and revere as their greatest.
Prague is full of cosy old pubs, and the Golden Tiger just happens to be one of its best. With a typical vaulted ceiling, long benches and wood panelled walls, the pub also has quite a pedigree, having been popular with ex-president and writer Vaclav Havel and even once visited by Bill Clinton.
No place for demure sipping - a fug of cigarette smoke and beer fumes hits you when you come in - the Golden TIger's lovely foamy beer, dressed down customers, tough love dispensing staff and excellent sausages are a classic slice of Czech pub culture,
