Cooler than a traditional pub but more laid-back than a classic Prague coffee house, Standard Cafe is one of central Prague's hipper spots. A slouchy, relaxing cafe/bar hybrid, it's hard to believe it's barely ten minutes from the Old Town Square, its distinctive Chinese bowl sign acting as a beacon to clued-up locals seeking to escape the crowds.
The decor is simple but quirky, with big red sofas and ceiling lamps resembling huge trumpets. Regulars tend towards the slightly more alternative side of hip, matched well with a soundtrack of electronica and indie that gets louder as day turns to night.
