Great Asian fusion in stripped-down surroundings
On first glance, this British-run Asian fusion restaurant couldn't be plainer. Simple pendant lamps brighten a white walled interior filled with shared tables, benches and seats apparently once used in Czech schools.
Sansho's food is way fancier than its decor, however. Using top quality and, where possible, local ingredients and making almost everything from scratch, Sansho offers no fixed menu, varying its pan-Asian/South American dishes depending on what looks good in the market that day. Some dishes in its lively roster nonetheless crop up regularly, such as a melting Malaysian style 12 hour beef rendang and zingy mackerel ceviche tacos.
