A few hundred metres from Wenceslas Square, Prague’s most happening street, stands Novomestsky Pivovar—a mini brewery and a restaurant that serves authentic Czech dishes. It also happens to be the first of its kind in Prague’s New Town. Tradition is imperative when it comes to brewing beer at Novomestsky Pivovar. The raw materials are carefully picked, their indigeneity is ensured, and an age-old procedure is followed—the liquid first goes into the brew house, followed by the fermenting and storage cellars. The beer thus produced is all natural and contains several essential vitamins and minerals. For those who are of the belief that alcohol is not healthy, this variant of the golden elixir is out there to break all conventions. The finished product is wonderfully creamy, fruity, rich and light at the same time.
Classic Czech food is another striking feature of this New Town brewery. Soups, seafood, potatoes and red meat are evidently omnipresent, and this place also offers an extensive variety of vegetarian dishes. The ambience is unique as you are literally seated in the midst of gigantic copper distilling equipment that glows in all its glory. This only helps in magnifying your drinking and dining experience and makes Novomestsky Pivovar a beer hall worth visiting.
