If you don’t know what you’re looking for, Kampa Bridge is extremely easy to miss. It spans a small canal tucked away on one side of Kampa Island near Charles Bridge. In the past few years, it has become quite a famous romantic spot. You can also find the beautiful love locks here. The idea is to decorate a lock symbolising the love in one’s relationship, then lock it and toss the key into the channel―symbolising the everlasting nature of the relationship. Though during the day the bridge is heavily trafficked, with tour groups stomping through every five minutes, at night the bridge becomes a secluded spot from where one can behold the quaint channel and water wheel. There are some great authentic antique shops in Mala Strana and the Old Town, on either side of Kampa Island, from where one can but a truly unique lock. Lennon Wall, painted by students in the late 1980s as an act of rebellion against the former communist regime lies close by.
