While it took several unsuccessful attempts for me to comprehend what the name of this café actually meant, Kafka Snob Food stands tall and conspicuous in perhaps the most fashionable address in Prague. Wonderfully reminiscent of the many establishments on the streets of Paris, this bistro is home to authentic Italian dishes and a collection of delectable desserts, freshly baked to perfection. The brick walls, turquoise panels and leather couches transport you to an era gone by. All at the same time, the steel ducts and the minimalist blackboard menu remind you of the modern times we are living in. Interestingly, the most striking element of this bistro is Kafka’s personification in a hundred wine corks.
For those who like documenting every passing second of their journey, all pictures taken inside Kafka Snob Food are Instagram worthy, right from the interiors to the food. Light a cigarette, sip on a steaming cup of mulled wine, treat yourself to some spinach ravioli and finish off with a slice of blueberry cheesecake. Expect several creative afflatuses to be released in your system; you are in the lap of a literary genius, after all. I didn’t really feel like a snob, but I certainly was a happy, satiated writer at the end of my meal. What to eat: Tortellini with tomatoes and basil, and mulled wine.
