Explore with a Tuk-Tuk – Phnom Penh, the capital is filled with tuk-tuks, and it is the most popular mode of transportion. Instead of taking a taxi from the airport, you can opt for a tuk tuk ride and get the first glimpse of the city from an open air vehicle. For a single person, moto can also be considered for travelling shorter distances. Any biker without a pillion would stop and give you a ride at wave of a hand. Tuk-tuk trips are real adventurous. Most of the tuk-tuk drivers are from the villages, and are not aware of any landmarks. Carry a map from the hotel as GPS is way off. Most of the drivers would only know the location of major pagodas. And that is the fun of riding on a tuk-tuk. Get on board and get lost in the narrow lanes of Phnom Penh. Explore the lesser known side of the capital from the eyes of a local. Do remember to pre-negotiate the rates to avoid hassles later on. Usually tourists pay $1 for a short ride, where as $2 can get you two hours of adventure around the city. So hop onto a tuk-tuk and ride in style!
