Sports fanatics looking for a day out really need to catch a rugby game at the Subiaco Oval. It’s a great place to get a feel for some genuine Aussie sporting action even if you aren’t hat familiar with the game. In the evenings, especially during the balmy summer months between November and April, the open-air Quarry Amphitheatre features an eclectic program of local, national and international acts, including music, theatre and dance. Surrounded by natural bushland, with views of the city skyline and as far as the Darling Ranges, it is a special venue with incredible acoustics. For classical music fans, the home of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, the Perth Concert Hall is the place to catch a gig. While the venue has hosted famous ensembles including London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic and the Vienna Philharmonic, it has also provided a stage for contemporary greats including Nina Simone and Ray Charles, and a range of modern artists from from Noel Gallagher to Tori Amos.
