Derek Freal abandoned the American Dream in 2009 to travel the world and eventually realized that Asia is the best part, which is why most of his writing covers India to Indonesia (and everywhere in between). However Derek"s specialty is in unique and offbeat travel guides -- not just for Asia but countries across the globe -- and in producing travel videos. All this and more as the nomadic journey continues on http://blog.theHoliDaze.com.

Pattaya. Food. Fun. Scenery. Sun. Beaches. Adventures. Nightlife—Pattaya is everything rolled into one. Think of it like the Las Vegas of Thailand, only with the neon strip replaced with….well, the glowing neon lights of the Walking Street. The only thing that is missing here is gambling, but who wants to sit in a dark casino when there are so many more exciting things to do in Pattaya!
Whoever said that “one night in Bangkok and the world’s your oyster” has clearly never been to Pattaya. As one of Thailand’s most iconic and well-known cities, no trip to the Kingdom is complete until you’ve spent a few sleepless nights in Pattaya. As you might have guessed from the name, Alcatraz is a prison-themed go-go bar and the largest go-go bar on Walking Street. The inside is huge and full of prison decorations that add to the ambiance. DJ's and a laser lig...more
There really is not a “nameless” beer bar in Pattaya -- or maybe there is? -- but good luck naming any of them. Confused yet? A beer bar in Pattaya is basically little more than a few chairs, some questionably clean glas...more
The Tahitian Queen claims to be the “oldest go-go bar in Pattaya” but whether or not this is true I cannot say. All I know for certain is that it has been under the same ownership for nearly 35 years, making it a living ...more
Part club and part go-go bar, the Iron Club is all party! Lavish decor and beautiful ladies make every guest here feel like a VIP. Rather than have one center stage, the Iron Club has multiple stages and poles down the l...more
Sometimes it gets to be too much. All the women and the clubs and the ladyboys and the endless nights. Sometimes you just want a cold beer and sports, nothing more. For that one of the best places is the no-frills Sugar ...more
