Pahalgam: Summer festival and water sports lined up for visitors

Pahalgam is calling you this summer. It will very likely host the popular summer festival from June 20. Tourism Director of Kashmir said it has been decided that this time water sports will be held on Manasbal Lake and a rafting championship in Sonmarg.
In fact, the summer festival and water sports will be key attractions for visitors in the coming months. Assessing the developments and preparations for tourist season, the tourism official mentioned numerous activities have been planned to maintain the footfall of the tourists in this region. Local youths will be involved and other adventure activities have been lined up for the said cause.

He further stated that Botapathri at Gulmarg will be thrown open for visitors this month. He further directed officials to identify spots that can be used for building bio-toilets and complete all those projects that are still under construction without compromising on quality.
Ahead of the tourist season, to ease the visit of travellers in this region, he has also asked the destination heads and assistant directors to fix rates of various services, such as pony rides, snow-scooter rides, shikara rides, and local sightseeing.
