A 150 m long shopping street, the Doguya Suji Arcade is unique because it only deals in cooking tools and basically everything you would need in the kitchen. The holy grail of chefs in Osaka, you can buy everything from knives and bowls, to chopping boards and pans in a lot of varieties. What started in the 19th Century as a tiny lane lined with makeshift shops, the Doguya Suji is now a cluster of streets that have morphed into retail arcades. Owing to the fact that the shops here are all compact and rather cluttered, finding products can be a wee bit difficult. However, you can be rest assured that every imaginable utensil and equipment will surface in due course of time. Free cooking classes are conducted frequently for those who wish to learn the preparation of local delicacies. Even if you have no interest in the culinary arts and intend to buy nothing, take a trip to this place as it is more of a phenomenon than a shopping complex. Doguya Suji is brimming with character through colours, noises, and crowds.

Also known as the Sennichimae Doguyasuji which translates into ‘cooking tools avenue,’ the arcade is a few minutes from the Namba Station. The stores are open from 10 in the morning until around 6 in the evening.
