Despite having been around for close to 30 years (it was established back in 1987), Saxophone has managed to maintain its low-key vibe while gaining popularity, and continues to be one of Bangkok’s best live music venues even to this day. This watering hole is all about the music—although it started out as a purely jazz and blues joint, it now hosts acts ranging from reggae and rock, to country and ska. The schedule of musical acts is updated on their website on a weekly basis, and the crowd consists of regulars and locals with the odd tourist thrown in. A favourite with both musicians, and music lovers, this is usually the place where you’ll hear the newest sounds before they explode—Saxophone has garnered a reputation as a platform for upcoming talent. Expect two-three different acts every night, coupled with unpretentious albeit delicious comfort food, and great company.
