From Rock Garden, make a stop at the Ngadak Monastery located at a distance of 2kms from Namchi town. Take the diversion near Kolkata Hotel and you’ll reach the monastery complex within 15 minutes. Because vehicles are not allowed near the monastery, visitors have to walk for about 150 yards to reach the premises. The work of this ancient monastery was commissioned to Tensung Namgyal during the reign of Chogyal Gyurmed Namgyal in the 17th century. Being prone to nature’s fury, the monastery could not stand firm for long. What we see nowadays, however, is a newly erected property. It is blessed with a great ambiance, and hence makes for an ideal place to meditate. Entry to this place is free.
