No trip to Munich is complete without eating its famous Bavarian sausages. Germans eat all kinds of sausages, be it fancy sausages, pork sausages, chicken sausages, beef sausages, or curry sausages. Whether it is a roadside Wurstelstand or a fancy diner, you can find a plate of wurst with sauerkraut (cabbage) and fresh horseradish pretty much anywhere around Munich. Delicately flavoured Weisswurst is one of the best preparations if you are craving for wurst. The traditional Bavarian meal consists of Weisswurst (white veal sausage) served with sweet mustard and salty soft pretzel. It is an all time meal, and it can be served during breakfast, can be eaten in a main meal, or can be eaten as a snack. It is usually eaten by splitting it open in two halves, spreading the mustard liberally, after which the meat is scooped out, leaving the skin behind. Nuremberg Bratwurst Glöckl is the best place to savour a traditional Bavarian meal. Besides the wurst, try typical Bavarian dishes of oven-fresh Munich Leberkäse (meat loaf), and the classic Schweinshaxe (roasted pork knuckle). While on a gastronomic adventure, learn to differentiate between Bratwurst, Gelbwurst, Weisswurst, Grune Wurstl, or currywurst!
