Noisy Georgian cafe with an eclectic clientele
Tipple: This is one of those rare places in Moscow where you can buy a litre of table water (stolovaya voda) for just RUB 50.
Located in a bright city loft space, Khachapuri has a distinctive modern look which is a far cry from the usual ethnic kitsch popular in Russia. Some come here to dine alone with their iPads, whilst others arrive in large groups to celebrate – the atmosphere really offers something for everyone.
Upstairs is the darker smokier area, while the non-smokers downstairs can take full advantage of the live piano music and street view.
As well as the house special cheese bread, make sure to try out the moreish khinkali (giant meat dumplings).
