A definitive collection of vinyl records

Talk of the town: Iggy Pop paid Sweat Records a visit the day after the unveiling of the shop’s gigantic white and teal mural paying homage to alternative music heroes, including the legendary rocker.

Tipple of choice: The shop’s gourmet coffee bar is stocked with vegan treats and offers free wi-fi.

Sweat Records was established in March 2005 by two best friends dedicated to Miami’s colorful music scene: long-time DJ, self-proclaimed music nerd and club/concert promoter Lauren (Lolo) Reskin and ex-WVUM DJ/current criminal defense attorney Sara Yousuf.

The teal and white mural of alternative music heroes on the shop’s façade signals the entrance, inside which hipsters, indie music fans, and visitors flock to scour the bins for new and used CDs and LPs. They also host live indie, underground, electronic, and esoteric music performances, alongside movie nights, standup comedy, and more obscure evenings such as the origami workshop.
