Art and antiquities from the world over
Owned by the University of Miami, the art museum’s globe-trotting 17,500-piece collection includes Greco-Roman antiquities, Renaissance, Baroque, and 19th century art from Europe and the US, Native American art, and Chinese, Japanese and Korean ceramics. The European collection includes works by Picasso, Monet and Gauguin while the Southwest Indian collection includes textiles and baskets.
Plan to spend several hours wandering the museum’s galleries. Knowledgeable docents are eager to answer questions and engage visitors in conversations about the museum’s exhibits.
