Mankameshwar Temple, located near Daliganj Bridge in Lucknow, is about a 1000-year old shrine, dedicated to the Hindu Lord Shiva. Quite popular among locals, the temple is frequented by hordes of devotees during the Hindu festival Shivaratri. Apart from its ancient importance, the temple is also renowned for having the first woman mahant or chief priest in the city, Arunima Singh, who was later christened as Mahant Devaigya Puri.
