With a gargantuan collection extending from ancient times to the present, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is the largest art museum in the Western United States, welcoming nearly one million visitors annually. Amongst the museum's special strengths are its holdings of Asian art, housed in part in the Bruce Goff-designed Pavilion for Japanese, Latin American and Islamic art, of which LACMA hosts one of the most significant collections in the world.
The Broad Contemporary Art Museum at LACMA is an impressive collection of famed collector Eli Broad's most prized pieces, including works by artists Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Ed Ruscha, Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman, Jeff Koons, Chris Burden, Mike Kelley, and Richard Serra.
