Mouthwatering steaks

Word to the wise
: If you have the time, checkout the Portuguese Parliament building, just across the road from the steakhouse.

Popular plate: It would have to be the house speciality, 'Lisbon Steak', which is served with a fried egg on top.

The Café de São Bento is famous for steak, so if you’re a vegetarian, steer clear of this joint. The restaurant, which has been around for ages, sports a reddish, lounge-like interior, and a very obliging staff. All kinds of steaks are on the menu, from steak with garlic and thyme sauce to a fiery pepper steak. Although not the cheapest restaurant in town, the chefs really know how to select, cut and prepare a wonderful piece of meat.
