Appearing in movies such as, The Three Musketeers, and The Vampire Happening, this incredibly popular castle is majestic to say the least. Built in 1130 as a tribute to the Prince of Liechtenstein, The Liechtenstein Castle is located in lower Austria, bordering Vienna. The castle has since been added onto and reinforced after new Royals took over and it was ravaged by invasions. It’s one of the only privately owned castles in Austria. To get here you can come from Vienna through Mödling via train, and then switch to a bus. There are private tours which at this time are around 10 Euro, and you can only enter the castle if you take a tour. If not, you can photograph and walk around outside.
