Well, this one is by far the most popular of them all. Momo, as we know it is a little different from the authentic Tibetan ones. These are dumplings filled with meat or vegetables, and are native to Tibet, Sikkim, Nepal and Bhutan. The Tibetan population of Leh has made it possible for tourists to try some very authentic momos, a far cry from the ones you get in the cities, especially like the ones found on the streets of New Delhi. You will find two types of momos, the steamed ones and the fried ones. There is also the kothay momos that are pan-fried and given a slight red colour. Another variant of momo is the taipo, which is rare, but not completely unheard of. It is a large momo with loads of meat and veggie filling. At times, one may also find half an egg inside it. Try your luck here at Leh, and take a look at the types of momos you can eat.
