The original Kazimierz experience

Word to the wise: From September to November each year, Alchemia hosts its acclaimed Fall Jazz festival – a series of performances by leading figures in contemporary jazz.

Alongside nearby Singer, Alchemia is regarded as the authentic Kazimierz bar. A friendly crowd of artists, independent travellers and fashionable young things cram into several candlelit rooms, whose tobacco-stained walls are adorned with antique photographs and kitsch art.

A good selection of Polish beers, flavoured vodkas and cocktails are on offer - and the real hot chocolate is a great restorative on a chilly Polish evening (try it with a drop of liqueur).

Alchemia's basement hosts regular live music and club nights - everything from jazz to tech house. Tickets can be bought at the bar or from the website.
