Precious Rongmei likes to tell people that she loves travelling – a lot. If only it's done solo, don't have to pack more than two pairs of clothes, won’t keep her away from her cat for too long, and come with loads of birding and butterfly watching opportunities. She's awkwardly passionate about true crime documentaries, gardening, carpentry and souvenirs. In that order.

Think prehistoric.
The charming and relatively small town of Krabi, beyond its beaches, is a treasure trove of historical facts. A number of prehistoric remains of cavemen (Neanderthals) were discovered from the limestone caves surrounding the town of Krabi. These remains date back to around 30,000 BC.
These traffic lights have become quite a tourist attraction, and surprisingly, pretty fun to look at too. But make sure to not let these stop you in your tracks. These traffic lights are installed in the centre of Krabi town, at the intersection of Thanon Maharaj Road.
If you thought these cavemen were the only striking features of this part of the town, think again. The street lights have elephants on them. This is a sentence we didn’t expect to say.

Krabi is known for its laid-back atmosphere, friendly locals, and easy access to some of Thailand's most stunning natural attractions. Krabi has always been more about the beachside fun and entertainment. But when we look inside the town area, we do find nuggets of fun like these quirky street installations.

Interact with the locals to understand the region's long lost cultures, traditions, and food habits. It doesn’t matter whether you are visiting Krabi for the first time or you are on your yearly visit, to really enjoy this pretty destination, you will need to go hyper local at times.
The beaches are there anyway!
