A good late-night optionWord to the wise: Take a printed receipt at the end of each journey - this can prove invaluable if you have any complaints or need to retrieve a lost item.
Brussels' public transport may be quick, cheap and efficient, but if you're laden with luggage or shopping bags or it's late at night, a taxi can be a better option. Taxi ranks are ubiquitous in the city centre but if you can't find one, you can always call a Taxi Bleu to pick you up at the location of your choice.
The meter starts at EUR 2.40 between 6am - 10pm, EUR 4.40 between 10pm - 6am, and EUR 1.66 per kilometre thereafter.
If you're on your own, in need of a late-night taxi and don't mind sharing your ride or making a short detour to other passengers' destinations, the Collecto taxi scheme is a cost-effective option. Call +32 2 800 3636, 20 minutes in advance and you will be directed to a pick-up spot near you and will be dropped at your door, all for only EUR 6.
