Most of the major historic sites in the centre of Florence are within walking distance of one another, but if you want to head further afield without a car, it’s probably best to hop on a bus. Operated by ATAF, the city buses will take you anywhere you need to go - from Giardino di Boboli right up to Fiesole - 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Read less
A cheap and easy way out of the centreWord to the wise: Make sure you stamp or swipe your ticket when you get on the bus or it won’t be deemed valid and you may get fined.
Most of the major historic sites in the centre of Florence are within walking distance of one another, but if you want to head further afield without a car, it’s probably best to hop on a bus. Operated by ATAF, the city buses will take you anywhere you need to go - from Giardino di Boboli right up to Fiesole - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
You can buy tickets from any kiosk or newsagent that displays the ‘Biglietti ATAF’ sign, or you can buy single tickets directly from the bus driver, albeit at an inflated price.
