Derek Freal abandoned the American Dream in 2009 to travel the world and eventually realized that Asia is the best part, which is why most of his writing covers India to Indonesia (and everywhere in between). However Derek"s specialty is in unique and offbeat travel guides -- not just for Asia but countries across the globe -- and in producing travel videos. All this and more as the nomadic journey continues on http://blog.theHoliDaze.com.
The owner is a friendly gentleman who can be found behind the counter anytime the cafe is open. They serve various baked items as well as a rather extensive menu of simple continental appetizers and snacks. Soups, salads, sandwiches and pizzas are all included, as well as the obligatory Nepali dishes. However it is their sandwiches which are the real reason people come here. Served on homemade bread, these sandwiches are twice as wide as the sandwiches from that small but well-known late-night sandwich joint in Thamel Chowk yet cost the same exact price!
Best Bet? BLT. It’s as good as any BLT I’ve ever had and only costs Rs 155.
