Resting comfortably between Brienz and Thun lakes, Interlaken is more of an emotion than a destination. Its lush meadows and Alpine chalets seem to exude this perpetual glow while the lakes glitter in all their glory. The Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau stand in the background like the most protective kins you will ever see and cow bells toll in the distance, playing a sweet melody of their own. Apart from being one of the most exciting places in Switzerland, Interlaken is a perfect base for day trips around the Bernese Oberland region. While some of these journeys are indispensable, some are good for those travellers who intend to stay longer.
