Believed to be the last remains of a volcanic eruption, these rocks have been there since centuries and tell unheard stories of the past. Now a popular tourist destination, Hampi once happened to be the capital of Vijayanagar during the reign of the legendary Krishnadevaraya. This place also bears testimony that there had been human presence in Hampi and its adjoining areas even during the prehistoric times. Located on the banks of the Tungabhadra River, Hampi is said to be the place where Goddess Parvati meditated to merge with Lord Shiva.
