How to reach Daman

By Air: The Daman airport, located at a distance of 3 kilometres from the heart of Daman, is not like a typical commercial airport, but it is mainly used as the military airbase. Nonetheless, it has daily flights to and fro Mumbai and Baroda. The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai is located at a distance of 170-190 kilometres. All major airlines like Jet Airways, Air Deccan, Spice Jet, Kingfisher airlines operate regular number of flights to and fro Mumbai. Tourists can also board flights to Diu from Porbandar and Mumbai. The second best option to reach Daman and Diu is to reach Bhavnagar or Porbandar by flight and then take a bus, car or taxi via road to the final destination.

By Train:
The nearest located railway station is at Vapi which is 12 kilometres away from Daman. Ahmedabad and Mumbai are the two railway station of the western railways which are very close to Daman. Daman is well-connected with all the major cities of the country such as Mumbai, Delhi, Dehradun, Jaipur, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Ernakulam, Jammu and Kalka. By Road:
Several state-owned and privately-owned buses play from Daman to the neighbouring city of Surat situated at a distance of 110 kilometres. Tourist can also easily travel from Mumbai to Daman (180 kilometres) by bus. An excellent network of road connects Daman and Diu to other parts of India. The National Highway number 8 is used to connect Daman by the motorable road with Ahmedabad ,Vadodara and Mumbai among other Indian cities.
