Antoni Gaudi’s first architectural marvel in Barcelona will open for a one-night stay. The famed Catalonia architect’s first work, Casa Vicens, will also feature a Michelin star dining experience. The building is famed for being the one to kickstart the Art Nouveau movement in Europe. It is a wonderful opportunity for art lovers to intimately experience a Gaudi masterpiece.
The stay experience is going to be a memorable one, with private tours of the building, its summer garden and more. You will also have a Michelin-starred menu inspired by Gaudi, laid out at the dining room of the building. Later, you can enjoy a nightcap in its smoking room, and spend the night in its master bedroom. You will also get to experience a splendid Mediterranean breakfast the next morning at the garden.
The entire experience is going to be a very private one, as it will be closed to the public on that day. The building was commissioned by Manuel Vicens i Montaner in 1882, who had asked a then 30-year-old Gaudi to build him a summer home. The experience will open up this fall, and the booking is available for a group of two people.
Antoni Gaudi is Barcelona’s foremost architect, with the city’s finest buildings to his credit. Seven of Gaudi’s works have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Interestingly, his most visited site is the Sagrada Familia, which is an incomplete masterpiece.
