A retro-cool, budget Downtown findNoteworthy for: For a budget motel, The Burrard does well to offer free umbrellas for rainy days, and complimentary passes to the nearby Steve Nash Fitness Centre.
Word to the wise: Breakfast isn't included, but you can grab a coffee and a cinnamon bun at the 24hr Blenz cafe adjacent to the lobby.

Formerly a 1950s motor in, the property's extensive 2011 remodel revived its mid-century bones without detracting from its retro-fabulous aesthetic. Overlooking a lush green inner courtyard strewn with 'Mad Men'-esque pod chairs, the 72-room complex is a bit 'Melrose Place' - without a pool to drown in. Rooms are relatively plain yet modern and comfortable, and come with 42inch TVs, espresso machines and complimentary WiFi. You have to be over 19 to book a room here, but due to its great rates and central location, The Burrard is frequented by an edgy, young crowd.
