Many people think that all the hill stations are the same. For them, it’s the same scenery but different name—same old mountains, big trees, greenery, small hairpin-bend roads and fresh air. But I feel otherwise. For every hill station that I have travelled to, I feel that there is something different to feel, to see and to adapt to. One such place is Lansdowne in Uttarakhand. While driving towards Lansdowne, the moment you see that big hoarding showing the way to this mystic hill station, you feel the difference in the air. This hill station has a different colour to it and that colour is rustic yellow with a hint of dark brown. A small unspoilt hill station, it is surrounded by thick oak and pine forests. For someone who loves colours in their scenery, Lansdowne is a canvas for them to paint beautiful pictures and memories. Lansdowne is a perfect weekend getaway—it’s undiscovered, less crowded and pristine. The best part is that it can be visited throughout the year as it boasts an amazing weather. Being a small town, there are a limited number of hotels in Lansdowne, so make sure that you book in advance, especially during the peak season.
