Spicejet operated a special flight from Delhi to Jodhpur for 136 Indian nationals, who were evacuated from Iran on March 29. These people are now staying at a government quarantine facility in the city.
Spicexpress, which is Spicejet’s cargo arm, is also doing doorstep deliveries of medicines, essential supplies and medical equipment in Patna, Thiruvananthapuram, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Raipur, Bengaluru, Vadodara, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Srinagar, Visakhapatnam, Guwahati, Jammu, Kochi, Lucknow, to name a few.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, Air India too has been carrying out rescue missions to bring back Indians stuck in foreign lands. The airline, till now, has brought back people from countries that include China, Iran, Spain and Italy. Not only this, Air India also brought back 314 stranded Israelis back to Tel Aviv.
During the said operation, the flight followed all the safety measures using personal protective equipment like masks and gloves. The aircraft was disinfected later and food boxes were placed on seats before boarding. Passengers were asked to disembark in lots of 20.
