A hotel in Colorado has reopened with a brand new vision, which is the need of the hour, and is a great example for hotels around the world. The Aspen Meadows Resort opened up on June 1, is located in fantastic meadowlands, and is a haven for nature lovers. Surrounded by mountains, the Aspen Meadows Resort has taken some great initiatives in line with COVID-19 guidelines. Perhaps the best of it all is the fact that it has now emerged as an eco-friendly hotel, with environmentally sound initiatives.
The hotel is going to draw its energy from wind, hydro, and solar power, and is a shining example in this time of environmental emergency. Aspen, a wonderful city reputed for its ski industry, had planned to go on 100 per cent renewable energy back in 2006. With the Aspen Meadows Resort going the way of renewable energy, the city is inching closer to its goal.
The incredible resort is not just a holidaying paradise, but also home to The Aspen Institute, which is a leading think tank that brings together scholars and leaders from around the world. One of its main issues of discussion has always been climate change.
Besides Aspen, some other cities have also gone the way of 100 per cent renewable energy. These are Burlington in Vermont and Georgetown in Texas, among others.
