Tai O

SIGHTSEEING, HONG KONG Updated : Feb 3, 2017, 01.27 PM IST

Tai O

Just two short hours out of Hing Kong, Tai O is a whole other world as compared to the frenetic pace of the city. The last remaining fishing village on stilts, it offers visitors the long-forgotten charm and modesty of a time gone by. Small huts perched above the water on stilts, vendors selling dried seafood (picture a sheet of scallops spread out to dry) and warm, friendly locals – that’s reason enough to make the journey. The water below the settlement is home to Hong Kong’s fabled pink dolphins, so do book a dolphin tour while you’re there.
